Hey!! I’m grateful that you can join in this 8-step sonnet of this upcoming season! If you’re reading this, you’re probably a friend, family or a cherished one — mayhaps some curious wanderer. Regardless, I love you and pray that you will find equal delight in these sojourns as I do.
Let’s see.. quick facts! Debbie and Frank (Lord bless them, chillest and funniest couple I know!) taught me Shanghai Rummy, and I’ve been hearing American mahjong is all the rage amongst aunties here. Witnessed my good friends (Evelyn and Nate) blessed wedding with Fyvie (super cool girlfriend). It was supremely tasteful and beautiful, as would be from two brilliant God-gifted creatives. Ashley’s lake house was supreme. I learnt to 180 a jetski courtesy of Blain, and Lake Gaston swallowed up my favourite pair of glasses :(. I’ve become the selfie guy, people always catch me doing funny things - which seems to be fairly normal; I had a whole saga with my blue Hyundai Elantra, Ciel! Ask me about that.
Among the fellows, I’ve felt a strange freedom to really be myself; in this carte blanche of a new face in a novel location, I’ve chosen to be me. And in all my zaniness, proclivities for mellifluous vocabulary, and a large indifference towards how others perceive me, I am seen, accepted and loved. So do I strive to see, accept, and love. Testimony sharing is an incredible privilege to dive deep into each other, as we are, and it’s honestly such a cheat code for authentic knowing and loving. We’re a fun, freaky (in the best way), and fabulous fellows group. And these new beginnings are the sun shining every new morn.
I desire to Let Myself Dream (I Built the Sky) and Let Me Hold You (Couch), as I go through a larger discernment process of my life direction as a Malaysian that loves home and the people back there. Also as someone who’s loving the people in this beautiful, gorgeous country that should really be a continent… still, I hold whatever little I have with open hands, assured that my good shepherd knows what’s good, and what’s better for me. Hallelujah. Thanks for reading!
Love & Hope, Regan.
P.S. I never knew how incredibly seen and loved I could feel when someone learns a song that I shared. It was glorious when we sang along! <3
